Temporary Closures Of Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass Planned Due To Construction

Bear Valley, CA — Next week, there will be a couple of days when travelers will not be able to go completely over Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass.

This is due to an ongoing Caltrans road rehabilitation project. Highway 4 will fully close near Raymond Meadows for drainage work on Tuesday, August 11, from 8 am – 4 pm. In addition, there will be a full closure from Kinney Creek to Upper Cascade Creek for drainage work on Wednesday, August 12, from 8 am – 5 pm.

Other spots will have one-way traffic control. Those areas include Silver Creek on Monday from 6 am – 8 am. At the Calaveras/Alpine County line to Lodgepole Campground on Tuesday from 6 am – 8 am and Thursday from 6 am – 5 pm. From Bear Valley to the Alpine Ranger Station on Tuesday from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm, and Friday from 6 am – 3 pm. Lastly, from Alpine Ranger Station to Lake Alpine on Tuesday, from 1 – 5 pm.

Travelers should consider avoiding the areas.
