Dispute Over Dogs Ends In Arrest

Angels Camp, CA—A dispute over dogs ended with an Angels Camp man handcuffed for making physical threats against his roommate.

A caller reported a verbal disturbance between two roommates on the evening of Sunday, August 9, 2026. When Angels Camp Police officers arrived on the scene, the victim told them the argument was an ongoing dispute involving the victim’s dogs. The exact issue with the canines was not disclosed.

During the investigation, the victim reported that his roommate, 35-year-old Sam Dylan Alexander Arnold, threatened to seriously injure him, and he believed Arnold was “capable of carrying out the threat and was in fear for his safety.”

When officers contacted Arnold, he admitted making the threat and told officers he had extensive mixed martial arts (MMA) training. Arnold was arrested for felony criminal threats. Police added that the case has been forwarded to the Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office for review and filing.
