City of Sonora Economic Development Strategy
Sonora, CA — The Sonora City Council will vote on approving an economic development strategy plan at today’s meeting.
There will be a presentation by Cole Przybyla of Przybyla Advisors (who has been hired by the city to lead the development of the effort) and Community Development Director Tyler Summersett. Meeting documents detailing the item note that Sonora serves as the county seat and is a gateway to recreation in the Central Sierra. It also has regional retail and medical facilities. The five-year plan connects recommendations from the city’s 2020 Economic Development Restart Findings report, the 2023 organization Review and Budget Stabilization Study, the Central Sierra Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy and Sierra Jobs First Strategic Plan.
