Tortoise found out on the town in the San Andreas area of Calaveras County—CCAS photo
San Andreas, CA – Two pets are looking for their owners, and Calaveras County Animal Services reports these aren’t your typical four-legged friends.
Over the past two days, these animals escaped from their properties, and animal services officials want to make sure they get home safely. Yesterday (9/2), a tortoise found its way to San Andreas. A kind person rescued it before it could get into any more trouble and took it to the animal shelter. Another unusual impound came in today (9/3). This goat was spotted roaming and munching its way through the Mokelumne Hill area and ended up at the shelter.
Animal services officials ask that anyone who thinks they recognize these wayward animals and knows who they belong to give the owners a heads-up so they can come and claim them.
