Two female educators in Calaveras County are claiming they´re not being paid what they deserve compared to their male counterparts.
Assistant Superintendent Jackie Hamilton and Special Education Program Manager Cathy Stone-Carlson have filed a complaint for damages for employment discrimination in Calaveras County Superior Court.
The complaint, against the Calaveras County Board of Education and County Superintendent John Brophy also lists a number of yet-unnamed defendants.
In the complaint, it´s alleged male employees with lesser job responsibilities are paid more than the women in their supervisory roles.
The pair seek back pay and “other money related to back pay,” interest on all sums due, attorneys´ fees, and costs of the lawsuit.
