Deputies with the Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department stopped a burglary in progress early yesterday morning.
Officials with the Narcotics Enforcement Unit say neighbors reported a burglary going on on the 2000-block of Quartz Drive in the Arnold area.
The suspect allegedly burglarized three vehicles and then forced entry to a house, owned by Alwyn Fox of Arnold.
No one was home at the time.
Three Calaveras County Sheriff´s Deputies pulled up to the scene where they confronted the suspect.
A short foot pursuit resulted in the deputies catching the 17-year-old suspect.
Officials also say extensive damage was done inside the home.
The suspect was charged with burglary, felony vandalism, and fleeing from Sheriff´s Deputies.
He was turned over to the custody of the Juvenile Probation Dept.
