According to a new Field Poll out this morning, Democrat John Kerry is running well ahead of President Bush in California.
The nonpartisan Field Poll of likely voters was taken after the first presidential debate.
It shows Kerry leading Bush by nine points in California, 49 percent to 40 percent, with 11 percent undecided.
But the poll also found last Thursday´s debate didn´t significantly affect voters´ views of the race.
The poll also showed the race virtually unchanged from the week before, even though the debate provided Kerry a noticeable “bounce” in some state and national polls.
