Names have been released in the case of a police chase which ended in a fatal crash over the weekend.
44-year-old Lauren Olander of Orinda was driving northbound on Washington Street, when officers from the CHP´s DUI enforcement team spotted her around 9:30 Saturday night.
She reportedly almost hit an oncoming car.
An earlier disturbance at the Sonora Opera Hall had reportedly tipped officers off that there might be a problem.
Olander took off on Highway 49 out of Sonora, and officers chased her for ten miles, at speeds from 30 to 85 miles an hour.
After crossing the Stevenot Bridge, Olander lost control of her SUV and hit a rock embankment. The vehicle rolled over, and Olander and her three dogs were ejected.
The CHP says Olander was not wearing her seat belt.
Her death is the 15th traffic fatality in Calaveras County so far this year.
