MyMotherLode.com and KVML news have learned from an anonymous hospital source, the West Nile Virus may have been detected in a young Mother Lode area girl. This has not yet been confirmed by Tuolumne County health officials. The unidentified girl is being treated at a Sonora area hospital.
California has surpassed Arizona as the state with the most human cases of West Nile virus. State health officials say tests have confirmed the virus in 343 people in California.
