The names of the people involved in last night´s single-vehicle wreck, off of Highway 4 near Utica Powerhouse Road, have been released.
25-year-old Mark Owens was driving his 2004 Honda Civic westbound on Highway 4, just after 10pm, and the CHP says Owens was under the influence of alcohol.
The car hit a tree and then went down a steep embankment.
Owens was arrested at the scene and taken to Doctors Hospital in Modesto for minor injuries.
His passenger was not so lucky.
23-year-old Kyle Cox suffered major head trauma and was airlifted to Memorial North Hospital in Modesto where he was listed in critical condition this morning.
