The ninth-oldest person in the nation and the 18th-oldest in the world has died in Bakersfield. Emma Taylor was 111.
The director of the retirement community where she lived says she died Tuesday after suffering a stroke. The Gerontology Research Group´s Web site listed Taylor as among the oldest living people in the world.
