As part of National Teacher´s Day, thousands of outstanding teachers nationwide were recognized for their efforts by Wal-Mart.
Jamestown Elementary School music teacher Yvonne Denton was named the local “Sam Walton Teacher of the Year.” The surprise annoucement was made at the school by Wal-Mart´s Director of Community Development, Frank Smart.
Denton receives a plaque and $1,000 for the school by the Wal-Mart Foundation.
