After working on the proposal for about two years, the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors approved increased fees for new development in the county. Supervisor Dick Pland and others say the fee rates should be updated every year. Until Tuesday, there had been no change for about 10 years.
The fee is going up by almost $800 for new homes that are served by the County´s Fire Department. For homes outside that area, the fee would be increased by about $170.
The money collected helps pay for things like fire protection, law enforcment and recreation.
