A federal judge in San Francisco has upheld the definition of the dolphin-safe tuna label and barred the Bush administration from altering it.
On December 31st, the Commerce Department said tuna caught by fishermen encircling dolphins with nets may be imported and bear the dolphin-safe label if observers say no dolphins were killed or hurt. Environmentalists sued. The court agreed with them.
