Official Has Ties With Oil Company

A top official at the U.S. Interior Department has participated in at least 10 meetings on oil and gas leases off the California coast — despite having worked as a lobbyist for two of the leaseholders. Congressional records also show that while Steven Griles´ Senate nomination was pending, Chevron was paying his firm 80-thousand dollars to lobby the Interior Department.
