Hundreds of Volkswagen enthusiasts gathered in the small town of Standard Sunday for the sixth annual “Sonora Bug Out.”
All years and models of the popular vintage German sports car showed up, from bugs to vans, square backs and hatchbacks. They roared and sputtered along Standard Road, crowding parking lots in the Standard Township yesterday.
Organizer Sam Wise of Sonora says the weather this year was great, since past event have been marred by rain.
Local car parts vendors set up shops, as well as a VW swap Shop for those looking for repair and replacement parts for their beloved “love bug.”
Wise says this year 77 show cars and another 200 cars were in attendance, the event€™s biggest year.
