Food aid to Iraq could eventually include a number of California products. Agricultural industry groups here say they expect the U.S. government to buy many farm commodities for the Food Aids program.
According to the California Farm Bureau Federation, the government said last week it would ship wheat and rice to the Iraqi people whose normal food channels have been disrupted by the war. It´s expected the program could expand to include raisins, dates or other fruits and nuts.
