Officials from states sharing Colorado River water are meeting in Las Vegas today, talking about their drinking water supply and a proposed agreement reached yesterday in a crucial California water rights fight.
Assistant Interior Secretary Bennett Raley is in Las Vegas, but isn´t taking part in the meeting. Yesterday, he oversaw a truce among California water agencies who´ve been fighting for more than three months about their water allocations.
Now, representatives from California and the Imperial Irrigation District are trying to get Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming to endorse the pact.
