The Calaveras County District Attorney´s Office has decided it will not seek the death penalty against Peter Jordan Chiesa.
The Wallace man is accused of fatally shooting his neighbors 43 year-old Leslie Hannameyer and 41 year-old Annette Truman in June of last year in a dispute over an easement.
Authorities say Chiesa threatened and then shot the women while they were clearing some eucalyptus debris along a road easement that was the source of a dispute between Chiesa and the two women´s families.
The decision was reached Friday according to a statement released by the county DA´s office.
