No “Measure G” Results Until This Afternoon

Columbia School District superintendent John Pendley is anxiously waiting a call from Tuolumne County Election´s office ballot counters.

Election officials will hand count remaining absentee ballots today to determine if the $3.6 million bond measure gets the needed two-thirds majority vote to pass.

“No, I haven´t been able to contact anyone for the county elections office yet,” Pendley said this morning. “They had a long night last night, so, I´m sure they´re working on it.”

Pendley says there´s a process the elections officials use to determine if the number of votes for Measure G reaches the needed two-thirds majority.

“Mathematically we still have a chance to reach the 66.6 percent,” Pendley said.

The superintendent said he probably will not hear anything further about results from the county elections office until late this afternoon.
