Tuolumne County planners say an old fashioned town hall meeting on Wednesday drew many great ideas for improving downtown Jamestown. Senior Planner Mary De Beauvieres says people were concerned about availability of parking and creating a “theme” for the downtown district.
Planners and residents also feel there should be a link from downtown to Railtown State Park. People at the meeting also wanted to see someone volunteer or be appointed to coordinate all of the ideas being considered. De Beauvieres adds that officials plan to hold more meetings like this in the future, to gather more ideas and to develop those that were presented this week.
