Governor Davis is planning a subdued weekend before low-key swearing in festivities Monday.
Davis will attend a “Day of Service” in Southern California Saturday and attend mass with his family Sunday before his inauguration and a casual celebration in Sacramento on Monday.
Inaugural co-chairman Allan Zaremberg says it will be “more of a low-key affair to celebrate his swearing but to make it in a way that´s consistent with the state of the economy and some of the challenges the state is facing.”
Davis enters his second term after a narrow victory in November while facing a historic $35 billion budget deficit.
Davis will be sworn in at noon Monday by California Chief Justice Ronald George at Sacramento´s Memorial Auditorium.
