Amador County Man Booked For DUI

A Pioneer man suffered minor injuries after losing control of his car on Highway 26 in West Point just after 1 a.m. New Year´s morning.

The CHP says 34-year-old David Hawkins was under the influence of depressants and ran off the roadway east of Main Street, hitting a power pole guide wire and an oak tree. After being treated at Amador Sutter Hospital, he was booked into Calaveras County jail.
