While the investigation continues into exactly how it happened, state officials say Saturday´s collapse of the overpass being built in Sonora won´t delay the $42 million project.
Robert Spradling with CalTrans says nothing has been ruled out as the cause of the collapse. It´s even possible that it was vandalism. But “It´s a minor incident,” he said.
No one was injured.
Spradling says the contractor, R.M. Harris, will absorb the cost of the accident.
The CalTrans Sonora Bypass Project is still expected to be finished this fall, weather permitting.
