Columbia College is again offering Team-Tourney Basketball Camps for local high school teams, who are interested in improving player cohesion and fine-tuning their game skills.
Two camp dates are set for July with all games played in the college´s Oak Pavilion. The first camp will be hosted on Friday and Saturday, July 18 and 19. The team cost of $200 guarantees that the participating team will play five games.
The second camp will be conducted on Saturday, July 26 only. The team fee of $100 guarantees that the participating team will play three games. Coaches must provide their own basketballs for warm-ups and players need to wear a common team jersey. Games will be played in two 20-minute halves with time stopping the last minute of the second half for fouls and out of bound situations. Each team is permitted two timeouts per game with a one-minute overtime.
“We look forward to two fun-filled tournament dates with lots of competitive play,” said Nathan Rien, Columbia College men´s basketball head coach. “It´s also a great opportunity for us as a college to observe these high school players as prospects.”
For registration details or more information, contact Coach Rien, at 588-5182 (office) or 848-3604 (home). The college´s Community Education Office (588-5360) is also available for team registrations.
