Firefighters had to deal with 105-degree temperatures as they battled a wildfire burning near Jamestown Thursday afternoon.
The blaze burned 231 acres in dry brush, grass and oak woodland near Tulloch Reservoir and the Sierra Conservation Center off O´Byrnes Ferry Road. Five air tankers and three helicopters, as well as numerous ground units were working the fire first reported around 3:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Hubbard says the fire was contained around 8 p.m. and total control of the fire should be achieved by 6 o´clock Friday night. There were no injures.
