No Holiday On Campaign Trail

Candidates for governor in the October seventh recall election have a number of Labor Day weekend appearances planned.

At Delano in the Central Valley Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante is attending a farm worker event at the community where the United Farm Workers was founded by the late Cesar Chavez. UFW President Arturo Rodriguez is to announce the farm labor group´s opposition to voter recall of Governor Gray Davis and endorsement of fellow Democrat Bustamente for governor if Davis is removed.

Governor Davis is recording a Labor Day address today in West Hollywood and also holding a news conference.

There´s still a chance the October seventh governor recall election in California may be postponed to March. Courts have tossed out several legal challenges to the vote on October seventh. But a three-judge federal court panel says it will decide on Friday of the coming week whether to order a delay in the voting.
