Drying winds and possible single-digit humidity are expected for Wednesday and Thursday of this week. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection officials say this could bring red flag fire conditions and high fire danger to the Sierra Nevada foothills.
Fire officials are urging people to be extremely careful with using any equipment that could produce sparks and start a wildfire, such as using lawnmowers or other power equipment in dry grass.
Burn permits continue to remain suspended in the Mother Lode region.
