Firefighters contained a 20-acre wildfire last night off Toyon Circle and Highway 26 in Calaveras County. Authorities say the grass and brush fire, west of San Andreas, was caused by a person using a welder or a grinder Monday afternoon.
Three air tankers and a helicopter, plus numerous ground crews fought to get it under control.
Fire officials say crews will be on scene all day today, to ensure there are no flare-ups.
