President Bush has signed a landmark rewriting of forest rules – and he says it will help avoid a repeat of this fall´s deadly California wildfires. The so-called “Healthy Forest” plan streamlines regulations that govern projects to thin timberland – and remove the underbrush that feeds the flames. The president signed the bill at the Agriculture Department this morning.
