A Calaveras County couple is recovering from knife wounds this morning, and a suspect held on $540,000 bond after a stabbing in Calaveras County early yesterday morning.
Charges against 41-year-old Rebecca Steele of Vallecito include attempted murder and resisting arrest after she entered the home of the couple in Douglas Flat and attacked them with a knife. Fifty-three-year-old Steve Neth received relatively minor cuts to the face and head, but 49-year-old Maria Estella Costa had to be flown to Memorial Hospital in Modesto with stab wounds to the back. Costa is reported in stable condition this morning.
