San Francisco International Airport can continue to operate with private security screeners instead of federal screeners. After September Eleventh, the federal government began a program to take over security at airports. But the Transportation Security Administration today said SFO is among five airports that can keep private screeners under a two-year pilot program. The screeners must undergo the same training as the federal workers.
