Sonora City firefighters responded to a van fire Tuesday afternoon shortly after 3 p.m. at the entrance to the Mother Lode Fairgrounds on Stockton Road. The smokey blaze to the engine compartment of the Ford Econoline fifth-wheel van conversion was quickly extinguished.
