Milk Recall

Berkeley Farms is voluntarily recalling some milk products because of the presence of antibiotics. During routine samplings, inspectors for the California Department of Food and Agriculture discovered significant quantities of penicillin in milk from two Berkeley Farms plants.

No illnesses have been reported, but those who are allergic to antibiotics could have a reaction.

A company spokesman says almost all the contaminated milk had been pulled from grocery store shelves by Friday afternoon. Milk with the plant codes 06-407 and 06-21 are included in the recall.

The milk was sold under various names. The brands affected include: Berkeley Farms, Albertson´s, Good Day, Dairy Dawn, Ralph´s, Mountain Dairy, Sysco or Wholesome Farms, Smart and Final, and Best Yet.
