An airliner made an emergency landing at Oakland International Airport last night after indications the landing gear had not retracted.
Airport officials say Delta SkyWest flight 3840 left Oakland around 4:35 p.m. heading for Salt Lake City. Shortly after take-off, pilots decided the wheels had not retracted and decided to return.
They flew around for about 40 minutes to burn off fuel – then landed without incident. None of the 50 people on board were hurt. The plane blocked the main runway for 48 minutes before being towed away.
