California farm groups hope Congress can finish work soon on a trade promotion bill. It would grant President Bush authority to negoiate trade treaties that can be approved but not changed by congress. American Farm Bureau spokesperson Andrea Ericson says her organization is pleased with the bill. Ericson says many California farms depend on exports to remain profitable.
