A federal prosecutor says a financial analyst from Egypt may have known in advance of the September eleventh attacks, and tried to profit from them. Tony Elgindy is already charged with racketeering and extortion in connection with a nationwide stock scam. Now, a prosecutor has told a federal judge at Elgindy´s bail hearing in San Diego that the man told his broker to liquidate his children´s trust fund on September tenth. Breen says Elgindy told the broker that the market would soon fall dramatically. The judge in the case did deny Elgindy bail, but said he was going to “disregard´´ the suggestion that the man had anything to do with the terrorist attacks.
