A San Diego jury has ordered doctors and a hospital to pay a quarter of a million dollars to a man who had a surgical instrument left in his abdomen.
Dan Jennings, who is from the Rancho Bernardo area of San Diego, says he suffered severe pain due to the mistake. X-rays showed that surgeons had left a 14-inch metal retractor near his stomach.
