One of Governor Gray Davis´ top aides says she didn´t discuss a potentially costly state computer contract with the governor before it was signed. Susan Kennedy told a legislative committee yesterday that she viewed the contract as a change in procurement practices that didn´t require a decision by the governor.
Kennedy is Davis´ deputy chief of staff and Cabinet secretary. She signed a memo indicating that the governor´s office had no problem with moving ahead with the 95 million dollar, no-bid contract with Oracle Corporation.
