Another counterfeit bill turned up in Tuolumne City yesterday. Sheriffs investigators say a woman in her 30s with long dark hair and a long blue dress gave a clerk at the Mother Lode Christian School Thrift store a phony 20-dollar bill.
Earlier in the week, Tuolumne County deputies took reports on phony 10 and 20 dollar bills showing up at several Mother Lode businesses including The Tuolumne Market, Wayne´s Service station in Tuolumne City, and the Black Oak Casino. A man driving a blue Ford Taurus reportedly passed a fake 20 dollar bill at the Mono Way Jack in the Box in Sonora.
