Higher cattle prices boosted California ranchers´income from beef animals last year, so says the California Farm Bureau.
The government reports the value of California cattle production rose 11 percent to more than $1.3 billion.
Income from other meat animals declined, such as sheep and lambs, which dropped by 9 percent. Receipts for hogs and pigs fell 21 percent.
