A federal jury has convicted a former Silicon Valley executive of traveling to Vietnam to have sex with a teen-age girl and bring her back as his wife. Michael Rostoker was convicted of 11 felony counts related to his use of the Internet to induce a minor to commit various sexual acts in California.
Rostoker is a renowned patent lawyer and was a Stanford University post- doctoral student when he was arrested. Prosecutors say the girl was only 13-years-old in 1999 when Rostoker paid her family more than $150,000.00 dollars and arranged falsified immigration papers to sneak her into this country. He faces up to four years in federal prison, but remains free on bail until his sentencing in August.
