Screen Actors Guild members have rejected an agreement that would have altered the union´s relationship with talent agents. Nearly 55 percent voted to oppose ratification of the agreement. The vote followed a bitter fight that divided the 98-thousand-member Guild.

The three-year pact would have allowed talent agencies to sell up to a 20 percent stake in companies that produce or distribute films, television programs and other entertainment products.
