The city of Sonora and the Sonora High School district will take over the funding this year, to keep a campus police officer on the job.
Sonora City Administrator Greg Applegate says the program has been a big success during the initial 3 years, which were funded with Federal grant money. The School District and the city will share the cost for the next three years on a 50-50 basis.
