A lawyer for a neighbor of a missing California girl says he´ll probably be asking for a gag order, to ensure a fair trial for his client.
Police arrested David Westerfield today, three weeks after the disappearance of Danielle van Dam. San Diego´s police chief says DNA tests confirmed that blood in Westerfield´s motor home and on his clothing matches that of the missing seven-year-old. The search goes on for Danielle, who has not been seen since her father put her to bed on February first.
In explaining the reasoning behind a gag order for anyone involved in the case, Westerfield´s lawyer says he doesn´t want his client tried in the media. Police focused on Westerfield almost immediately after Danielle disappeared.
