Two San Francisco teen-agers can thank a warm-blooded pooch for making their wayward hiking adventure a little more bearable.
Daniel Werner and Bret Stemme got lost while hiking on Mount Tamalpais in Marin County and had to spend Friday night on the mountain.
It can get pretty chilly up there at 13-hundred feet elevation, which is why these hikers are glad they had a dog with them.
They took turns sleeping with the Schnauzer tucked tight against them. They were eventually spotted by search and rescue workers yesterday morning.
The hikers are doing fine and so is Smokey, the dog that kept them warm.
