Suspect Jailed In Jamestown Armed Robbery

Tuolumne County Deputies have a 22 year old Columbia man jailed, after a gunpoint robbery in Jamestown this weekend. Investigators say Timothy Joel Burton brandished a black handgun at the Yosemite Junction Gas Mart, and took three grocery bags full of cigarettes, 4 six packs of beer and money from the cash register.

Deputies chased down a car shortly after the incident when the driver tried to evade them. He took off on foot after stopping on Serpentine Road. Deputies went to BurtonĀ“s home on Sharon Road, following clues they found in the car. Burton was arrested after a brief foot chase.
