President Bush´s holiday vacation is almost over.
Bush heads back to the White House tomorrow after 12 days at his ranch in Texas. But his arguments on the economy precede him.
Yesterday, on a day trip to California and Oregon, Bush renewed his call on Congress to pass an economic stimulus plan dominated by yet more tax cuts. He told a crowd filled with Hispanics voters in Ontario, “Not over my dead body will they raise your taxes!”. He says that Democrats who criticize his tax cuts are tax-raisers in disguise.
Democrats, who helped bury Bush´s plan before the holidays, have a new counter-proposal, which includes tax breaks for job-creation, as well as more spending on aid to laid-off workers.
