Pacific Gas and Electric Company has withdrawn a proposal to let it pay for a company hired to promote its plan for reorganization. PG&E withdrew the idea yesterday, saying it would look for money from other sources to pay DF King and Company. The utility hired DF King to tout its reorganization plan to creditors. PG&E filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year.
