A bill to make Bodie the official state ghost town has died in the Senate after pressure from backers of a rival ghost town. The measure sought to make the abandoned town of Bodie, in remote Mono County, California´s most authentic ghost town. But fans of Calico, near Barstow, say their town should be selected instead.
